A Lehigh Acres motorcyclist was killed late Friday night after he was reportedly driving the wrong direction on a Lehigh street and crashed with a vehicle at an intersection.

The accident happened just before midnight at Alabama Road and Cherokee Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle was going south in the northbound lane when he was hit by a car and thrown from his bike.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. NBC-2 reports that Lee County Sheriff’s deputies say alcohol may have been a factor. Read the story.
