Five drivers were injured, including one in critical condition, following a multi-vehicle crash yesterday that shut down the eastbound lanes of the Midpoint Bridge for about five hours.

The crash occurred about 7:45 a.m. At least four vehicles and a motorcycle were involved. The motorcycle was nearly embedded into the back of a car and a truck flipped on its side.

The crash happened when the driver of a white 2006 Ford van hit the back of a motorcycle that was slowing down for stopped traffic. The van slammed the motorcycle into the car in front of it, causing a chain reaction. The van overturned.

In our previous blog, we told you about a crash on U.S. 41 near Daniel’s Parkway/Cypress Lake Drive on Monday.
