A semi traveling north on I-75 in Charlotte County hit a vehicle and rolled onto its side, injuring two people.

The back tires on the semi lost traction Friday night and the truck when off the roadway. The truck swerved back onto the roadway and hit a car, forcing it off the road. The truck hit a cable barrier and the semi then rolls over onto its side, reported nbc-2.com.

Semi drivers as well as the drivers of the vehicles around them need to exercise caution. Tire blowouts are common, trucks have many blind spots and the size of the trucks creates a “sail” like effect and makes a truck very difficult to control, according to drive-safely.net.
