Florida Highway Patrol troopers are looking for a car involved in a hit-and-run accident last weekend in Lee County. The car that was hit was stopped for emergency vehicles responding to another crash.

The crash happened about 11 p.m. Saturday on Lee Boulevard near Joan Avenue in Lehigh Acres. A silver Infiniti hit the back of a car stopped in the eastbound lane of Lee Boulevard for emergency vehicles. The Infiniti then drove off. Read more.

Southwest Florida has seen an increase in the number of hit-and-run crashes. We’ve told you about many of them in this blog. In 2014, there were 5,674 hit-and-run crashes in Southwest Florida. That’s about 1,600 more than just two years earlier, according to FOX4 Now.
